H2H Associates is pleased to announce a new contract with the United States Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), conducting stockpile volume and net weight assessment of bulk piles of ferrochromium, ferromanganese, and manganese ore.
H2H will deploy cutting-edge technologies to verify and certify accuracy of current bulk inventory records, and develop processes and procedures for future use by the DLA for developing official, audit-ready weights of record.
For this project, H2H engineers will use state-of-the art ZEB-REVO LiDAR scanning equipment and a simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm to capture 3D point cloud data of each material pile, and perform post-processing using the GEO-SLAM algorithm to generate models containing between 10,000 to 1,000,000 data points within an inch of accuracy.
Using CAD software, the H2H team will use the rendered data to create Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) files that will be used to compare the estimated base and surveyed pile boundary areas. The resulting volume estimates will be multiplied against bulk weights provided by the DLA to determine the net weight of each pile, which will then be evaluated during a detailed quality control process.
Upon successful completion, H2H will provide both formal certifications of the weight of each pile, and an audit-ready standard operating procedure detailing the processes and procedures conducted.
